Sat down with a politician the other day.
Told him it was his job to represent the people and only the people.
He told me I was wrong.
Should representatives do what the people want or what they want?
He said his job was to get superior information and make the best decision he could on behalf of the people, no matter what they wanted.
This was a fascinating statement to me– but also one that underscores the issues we are having right now.
We have representatives who think they know better than the people. Who think they are superior to the people.
“I won’t be a puppet to the people” he said.
Weird.
I will be.
The people need a representative they can trust.

Partisan federal representatives openly claiming the DOJ can’t be trusted.
Insane.
But not unexpected.
When Democrats are in power the Republicans say the DOJ can’t be trusted.
When Republicans are in power the Democrats say the DOJ can’t be trusted.
We need to end the parties.
NONE of these people can be trusted.
Any R. Any D.
Can’t trust them.
They don’t work for you.
And they sure as heck don’t work for justice.
Americans are smart. We’re tired of the partisan nonsense.

Then we can have a department of ACTUAL justice again.

The one thing Democrats and Republicans can agree on in Orange County is this– we need to bring back the Pac 12.
This is my post popular position by far right now. Everyone loves the idea of getting the college conferences back into proper alignment.
Seeing UCLA and USC have to fly to Rutgers for a conference game is absurd.
Stanford and Cal playing in the ATLANTIC coast conference is insulting to the English language.
Plus it is MURDER on the student athletes who have to travel back and forth across the country and still somehow perform both academically and athletically.
Its terrible. All bad. Money grab.
Look I am all about the free market– but once in a while the government has to step in to fix something dumb.
This is a great example.
Let’s get the Pac-12 back and put the rest of the conferences into their classic alignments– and keep them there!

Hear about these four turncoats in Minnesota voting to support Trump over their own people?
Per a local ABC affiliate:
A bill introduced Monday by Rep. Pete Stauber and the rest of Minnesota’s Republican congressional delegates seeks to withhold federal election funding until the state turns over more detailed information about voters to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
They pledge to DENY FEDERAL FUNDING from their own state unless it obeys Trump’s requests.
This is absolutely sickening and exactly why the party system needs to end.
People putting their party over the people they swore an oath to represent and protect.
This is exactly why you CANNOT vote for a Republican here in California– even though the Democrats here are nuts.
Trump likes to PUNISH California. And if you vote for a Republican in California she/he will do the same things clowns in Minnesota just did.
Put Trump (i.e. their party) over their own people and vote to hurt California.
Crazy nuts and crazy.
But its NOT just Republicans. Democrat puppets do the same thing– voting for their party’s platforms no matter what the people want in their district.
The parties have to go folks.

The data looks pretty clear to me that Dave Min can’t win California District 47– at least not against Troutman.
He’s done.
So not going to focus on him anymore.
Instead want to talk to two of the guys who DEFINITELY can’t win but could actually HELP Min win with their own CRAZY campaigns.
And we have a real goldilocks situation here.
One of these guys is 28 years old– Hunter Miranda– no experience, working at a lemon law shop trying to figure out how to be a lawyer after having just passed the bar. No experience. No qualifications.
The other guy is 75– Michael Maxsenti– nice guy but limited energy and a real zero impact speaker. Kind of gets lost mid-sentence. Shades of Biden. You know what I’m saying.
Bottom line: One is too young. One is too old.
And then you’ve got the Czar.
He’s just right.
47.
Middle of his career.
Absolute prime.
One of the greatest living litigators–literally the most expensive attorney by hourly rate in the history of the nation.
Reputation that makes people shrivel up and go away before he even enters a room.
Ready to go out there and crack some skulls in DC to get the job done for the people here in D. 47.
Can’t beat him.
But there is one little problem.
The PRIMARY.
The mindless zombie voting by partisans in the primary MIGHT result in a powerful independent like Troutman being left out as the Rs and Ds go in blindfolded and just pull the lever for their chosen party.
Terrible stuff.
This could be a real problem– especially with the media trying to protect the status quo. Sad.
But hopefully Maxsenti and Miranda– and hey even Min–will just drop out and clear the way for the people of D. 47 to have a REAL WINNER representing them.
We shall see.
