We live in the greatest country in the history of the world.
And we are all part of it.
Right now.
The history of America is being written by all of us.
Our choices shape this great country.
And the combined wisdom of its PEOPLE steer it forward on its endless path of success and winning!
I love being an American and I am so grateful for its blessings– including the blessing to get to serve all of you!
Thousands of you watched last week’s webinar on why D.C. is NOT a swamp–it is a BEAUTIFUL city on a hill that shines for all the world to see our leadership and vision!
All the world follows us, and we should remember that this Thanksgiving. We lead the whole world!
Going to be putting up a couple of videos this week just reminding everyone how lucky we are to live in this great nation and to be surrounded by so many SMART and BEAUTIFUL people all the time.
We truly are blessed and we truly should be grateful this Thanksgiving and every day!
And I am so grateful for all of you (especially those who donate to the cause)!
Politicians call D.C. a “swamp” because they want to tear down the beauty of our nation’s capital to make themselves feel worthy. Its not right– they should RESPECT our capital and the beauty it holds.
The truth is D.C. is a gorgeous complex of temples–so magnificent!– dedicated to freedom and the soul of America. It is a wonderful beautiful place that represents the best of America and stands as a beacon of strength and integrity to the entire world.
We need to elect people who are worthy to serve in such a beautiful and important place. Who respect our government and its capital. And who are very capable and dedicated to the people!
I see a world where D.C. is filled with the best and brightest minds our country has to offer– that’s the world the founding fathers envisioned. Where talented people debate the nation’s issues and write clear and wise laws to serve the people (and no one else!)
D.C. isn’t a swamp and we shouldn’t let people say mean things about our capital!
Let’s be very forgiving where we can be, but also very tough where we have to be.
Its Thanksgiving week.
So we need to be thoughtful and grateful. But also forgiving.
Americans are very forgiving people. And we forgive a lot.
Sometimes politicians can be forgiven. They’re just human. And its ok to make mistakes. And we can forgive them when they make regular mistakes.
But we also have to be smart and very tough and not forgive them when they put themselves first and don’t take care of the people.
Let’s be forgiving but also be smart.
We need to be very tough on these politicians who are not serving the people. The puppets who only serve the parties. We need them OUT of Washington. We can’t forgive that.
We can learn so much about Min’s priorities from these two back-to-back posts.
Dave Min is legendarily soft on crime, but last week’s antics show something quite different.
Min posted on his X account an attack on law enforcement– specifically ICE agents– the very same day National Guardsmen in D.C. were being shot (and killed!)
In fact look at the juxtaposition here:
Notice the passion he displays when ATTACKING law enforcement– referring to them as “brutally beat[ing]” a woman, capitalizing the word “ZERO” in calling for LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICES to face “consequences” and ending with a call to action ATTACKING law enforcement saying the “lawlessness must end.”
Now compare this to the lazy half-assed “thoughts and prayers” post following the attack on the National Guard. CRAZY.
Min attacking law enforcement same day national guardsman shot– why???
Compare also how his attack on ICE was designed to create exactly the sort of anger that might lead to attacks on law enforcement, and rather than turn down the temperature meaningfully with his next post– or by taking down his anti-law enforcement post–he uses the laziest six word sentence to suggest violence against law enforcement is “unacceptable” without elaboration.
This is just unreal.
Why Min would use his platform to attack ICE the same day as the national guard is attacked is beyond me. And to the extent he posted his attack before the shooting– unclear as shooting was at 11:15 am and his post seems to have gone up afterward– he still should have taken it down out of respect for law enforcement.
Now look we can all agree the national guard should absolutely NOT be in our cities enforcing the law at the behest of the federal government–that IS crazy– but ALL members of law enforcement must be respected (LOVED!) when they are doing their job.
You can count on Troutman to support first responders– NOBODY loves these guys more than he does. And Troutman will NEVER attack our law enforcement authorities– instead he will make sure they are HOME where they belong as much as possible and NOT in harm’s way needlessly.
But when they must serve us Troutman will make sure they have EVERYTHING they need to WIN for our nation.
Troutman loves everyone who defends and serves this great nation– because he loves the country and wants to see it UNITED and strong.
So there’s apparently a reddit forum called “LinkedIn Lunatics” and they were kind enough to roast me this weekend.
Was pretty fun.
The LinkedIn post in question is this one from Friday. I suggest– in an unusually provocative tone– that failing to work on Thanksgiving risks letting others in your profession pass you by.
This really touched a nerve with folks– people LOVE Thanksgiving and spending time with their families and do NOT want to feel judged or inadequate for doing so. And they really let me have it!
Obviously my point is that elite people (and those who serve our nation) are willing to make the sacrifices necessary to stay at the top of their game 365 days a year–and I think most people understand that– but the Redditors thought I was some sort of tool that thought everyone should work Thanksgiving day just for the sake of it. Hahahahaha.
Anyway was a lot of fun. We all read the stuff aloud over the weekend and laughed a ton.
I know a lot of you think these Redditors are just mean-spirited trolls or losers that don’t have anything else better to do than pick on LinkedIn posts but I disagree. I know a lot of smart people on Reddit and while I certainly spend my time doing other things (never had a reddit account), I think its great that people get out there and debate and share their opinions on things– even if they aren’t very informed opinions. hahha.
The one pervasive theme I saw in the posts– other than that nobody wants me at Thanksgiving dinner – is the fear that working too hard will result in a person having a bad relationship with their family/dying alone.
Don’t think that’s true. The issue isn’t hard work. It’s why the hard work is taking place.
Everything done of love succeeds. And if you are working hard because you love your family, your clients, your friends, and your country and want to be the best FOR THEM everyone will know that– and you will be loved for it!
My life is so rich and full of love. Overflowing with so many friends and well-wishers. An entire community who looks to me for advice and wit and laughs–in addition to an INCREDIBLE family and team (such incredible people)!
I am the luckiest guy on Earth
Plus I get the benefits of stuff like having my name on my favorite college football team’s stadium, my own magazine, and the ability to impact the world– like stopping billions of unwanted robocalls and running for congress to keep our nation strong and united.
I mean this is awesome..
I truly am the luckiest guy in the entire world– which is why I always try to give back as much as I can.
But all of this came because of hard work not despite hard work. The RIGHT KIND of hard work.
That time we gave away FREE patriotic hats because we love our community and our nation!
I work hard and sacrifice for others —and because of that I have been so blessed.
But if you only work hard for yourself then you risk becoming the terrible scorned and lonely deathbed loser.
I can understand why the Redditors thought I was the “egotist” who would “die alone” because I seem too focused on little projects to see the big picture.
But all I see is the big picture– which is how I ended up with a cup that never stops overflowing.
And I try to help others to see the big picture too– because I want EVERYONE to win also.
Be generous. Be grateful. Share all you can. Love intensely and deeply and be very open about it. And people will love you back–yes, they’ll even want you at Thanksgiving dinner!– no matter how hard you work (or how many dinners you have to miss.) Because they know you’re doing it for them.
Much respect to the Redditors who let me have it. But even more respect to the beautiful people– like my brother, an Orange County fire captain– who had to miss dinner with their families to work Thanksgiving to keep us safe.
People who work the holidays to serve others aren’t the worst of us. They’re the best of us.
