But does that mean Americans actually miss Biden as president?
Not by a long shot.
Biden’s approval rating was dismal during his time in office. Barely anyone thought he did a good job.
But Americans by and large just don’t like Trump either.
The key difference– Biden’s government was less involved in people’s life. Or at least that’s the way it felt (whether or not that’s true is a different story.)
But the one thing NOBODY can deny– these are BOTH bad (unpopular) options.
Only about 35% of people actually WANTED to vote for Trump because he is so partisan.
But compared to Harris he was the only choice. The perceived “lesser” of two evils– although still plenty evil as Americans now agree.
And if Harris had one the polls would be just as dismal against her.
So what’s going on?
Americans are stuck with terrible choices over and over again.
Why?
Because the party system only rewards loyalty TO THE PARTY and not intelligence or common sense FOR THE PEOPLE.
We get candidates THE PARTIES want instead of candidates THE PEOPLE want.
Our system is so remarkable and so PURPOSE BUILT to prevent tyranny and oppression.
It really is a sight to behold.
We all know that NO ONE can be convicted of a crime in this nation without being convicted by a jury of people drawn from the community. That alone is quite remarkable.
People have to sign off on the government’s use of power to punish citizens.
That’s really neat.
But BEFORE a person can even be tried for a crime in federal court they must first be indicted by a GRAND jury.
This is a really amazing invention that assures the government cannot even begin a case against a person unless there is at least probable cause.
So let’s take Trump’s recent effort to have some members of congress prosecuted.
Maybe this was politically motivated, maybe it wasn’t (it probably was.)
But regardless no prosecution can move forward because the GRAND JURY refused to indict.
That’s it.
A handful of regular old people off the street.
More powerful than the president.
Now THAT’S a system designed to promote democracy and assure freedom.
Its funny these guys I am running against have all day long to campaign. I work 14-16 hours a day and then use what little energy I may have left to further the campaign.
And I’m still smoking them. Hahahaha.
Been thinking a lot about the government’s role in family lately now that I am married.
Marriage itself is always sort of a weird concept from a legal perspective– but its a very beautiful thing.
Important that people be left to have the sort of family life they want to have.
I remember Dave Min was on a podcast not long ago and said people were “terrible parents” for taking their kids to a gun show.
I don’t know about that.
I mean, sure Dave you don’t like guns. I get it. And you don’t want to see kids learning about guns.
But when I see invested parents taking their kids to things and TEACHING them about any part of life– particularly something that is meaningful and may have an impact like gun safety/knowledge– it is really hard for me to say these are bad parents.
Truth is, no one should really be judging anyone else on anything–especially when it comes to raising kids.
And if that’s true, then it is also that the government shouldn’t be trying to dictate to parents how their kids should be raised.
Would love to see an “invisible government” as I like to say. One that you never have to think about. That doesn’t interfere in your life– but that is there with basic services when you need it.
Fire. Police. Justice. Airplanes that don’t crash. Breathable air. Honesty in the marketplace.
That’s about what we need a government for.
Now look, I am going to do whatever the good people in District 47 want me to do out in Washington– but I look forward to a day when we aren’t CONSTANTLY being forced to think about the stupid stuff happening out in D.C.
Maybe one day SMART stuff will be happening out there!
A bill introduced Monday by Rep. Pete Stauber and the rest of Minnesota’s Republican congressional delegates seeks to withhold federal election funding until the state turns over more detailed information about voters to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
They pledge to DENY FEDERAL FUNDING from their own state unless it obeys Trump’s requests.
This is absolutely sickening and exactly why the party system needs to end.
People putting their party over the people they swore an oath to represent and protect.
This is exactly why you CANNOT vote for a Republican here in California– even though the Democrats here are nuts.
Trump likes to PUNISH California. And if you vote for a Republican in California she/he will do the same things clowns in Minnesota just did.
Put Trump (i.e. their party) over their own people and vote to hurt California.
Crazy nuts and crazy.
But its NOT just Republicans. Democrat puppets do the same thing– voting for their party’s platforms no matter what the people want in their district.
The data looks pretty clear to me that Dave Min can’t win California District 47– at least not against Troutman.
He’s done.
So not going to focus on him anymore.
Instead want to talk to two of the guys who DEFINITELY can’t win but could actually HELP Min win with their own CRAZY campaigns.
And we have a real goldilocks situation here.
One of these guys is 28 years old– Hunter Miranda– no experience, working at a lemon law shop trying to figure out how to be a lawyer after having just passed the bar. No experience. No qualifications.
The other guy is 75– Michael Maxsenti– nice guy but limited energy and a real zero impact speaker. Kind of gets lost mid-sentence. Shades of Biden. You know what I’m saying.
Bottom line: One is too young. One is too old.
And then you’ve got the Czar.
He’s just right.
47.
Middle of his career.
Absolute prime.
One of the greatest living litigators–literally the most expensive attorney by hourly rate in the history of the nation.
Reputation that makes people shrivel up and go away before he even enters a room.
Ready to go out there and crack some skulls in DC to get the job done for the people here in D. 47.
Can’t beat him.
But there is one little problem.
The PRIMARY.
The mindless zombie voting by partisans in the primary MIGHT result in a powerful independent like Troutman being left out as the Rs and Ds go in blindfolded and just pull the lever for their chosen party.
But hopefully Maxsenti and Miranda– and hey even Min–will just drop out and clear the way for the people of D. 47 to have a REAL WINNER representing them.
